About this policy
Witz Cybersecurity Pty Ltd (“we”, “us”) handles personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
When we access personal information in a client’s systems while delivering security services, we handle it under our agreement with that client and only as needed to do the work.
What we collect
We collect only what we need to run our business and serve you:
- Contact details: name, employer, job title, work address, email and phone number.
- Enquiry and service details: what you ask us about and the services we provide to you.
- Website data: IP address, device and browser type, and pages visited, collected through cookies.
We usually collect information directly from you, and sometimes from your employer or our technology partners. You can browse our website without telling us who you are.
How we use it
We use your information to:
- respond to enquiries and arrange product or service demonstrations
- provide, support and bill for our services
- send updates you have agreed to receive (you can unsubscribe at any time)
- improve and secure our website
- meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not make decisions that significantly affect you using automated processes alone.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only when needed, with:
- technology vendors we partner with, to schedule demonstrations or discussions
- service providers who help us operate (such as cloud hosting, email and accounting), under confidentiality obligations
- professional advisers, or authorities where the law requires it.
Some of these organisations are located overseas, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to ensure they protect your information consistently with Australian law. We will ask for your consent before sending your information overseas for any other purpose.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies so that it works properly. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising tracking. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work as a result.
Security and data breaches
We protect personal information with safeguards including access controls, encryption and multi-factor authentication. We keep information only as long as we need it, then securely destroy or de-identify it.
If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or to stop receiving marketing, by contacting us below. We may need to verify your identity, and we will respond within 30 days.
Complaints and contact
If you have a question or a complaint about how we handle your information, please contact our Privacy Officer. We aim to respond to complaints within 14 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the OAIC at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
